Home Alone

May 20th, 2009

I’m home alone tonight! The kids are all spending the night at their friends. I’m making potato, zucchini and carrot pancakes. It’s a new recipe so wish me luck!

I’ll probably work on this site some more as well. I am gaining confidence with the code involved, but still having issue finding just the images and backgrounds I want. I may end up having to teach myself photoshop anyway to make my own. lolz

I did manage to add tweet suite and a follow me on twitter button. However, now I’m rethinking that as my twitter is not always kid/work safe. Hrmmm.

Messing around with the blog

May 20th, 2009

That’s what I’ve been doing. Trying out new themes, looking for inspiration. This tulip one that is on now is far from my favorite but it’ll fit the bill while I work out what I want.

For the record:

I want a stationary background. I like this one a lot—small pattern, subtle colors (preferably purple or lilac or even orange would be ok in some circumstances). I’d like a header that is contemporary, feminine, pretty. I’m going to go icon and image hunting later today and I’ll get a list going.

I’d like 3 columns but will settle for two for the right look.

I want this blog to be about domestic things, some stuff about spirituality perhaps, crafting, decorating, cooking, menu planning, homeschooling, etc. Yeah.

Firefox vs Safari

March 4th, 2009

So, this cute girl I’m always trying to impress recommended I give safari a try.

Safari has a bunch of new features that are pretty cool.  Well, really just one of them is really cool.  But, safari just isn’t as pretty and it doesn’t allow as much customization.  I tried to love it, I really did.
I have some addons on my firefox that make is so adorable!  Check it:

In case you are curious, the theme is avant.garde.1001 in rosa and the different colored tabs are from a plug in called, oddly enough, ColorfulTabs.
